Solaire Generation Completes 1.1 MW Installation in New Jersey

August 19, 2010 – Solaire Generation announces the completion of a 1.1-megawatt solar parking lot project at a Johnson & Johnson campus in Central New Jersey.  The solar lot will reduce Johnson & Johnson’s electricity costs and offset the facility’s green house gas emissions.

The six rows of Solaire Parking Canopies TM feature the company’s patented dual incline design. The entire system supports more than 3,400 high-efficiency solar panels. In total, the project covers 60,000 square feet of asphalt, protecting more than 400 employee and visitor parking spaces from the sun, rain and snow at the J&J campus.    The project will generate 1.1 million kW hours of electricity each year, an amount equal to the annual energy consumption of approximately 112 U.S. households.

“The innovative structures reinforce for all visitors and employees Johnson and Johnson’s dedication to renewable energy.” said Laurence Mackler, CEO of Solaire Generation. “

The Solaire Parking CanopyTM is currently the only installed commercial parking canopy to offer complete protection to people and cars from snow and rain, while also concealing electrical wiring from the PV panels preventing unauthorized access.  Solaire has achieved this with their design and integration of the decking, gutter and fascia system.
