Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Laurence Mackler founded Solaire Generation in 2008 with a vision and passion to make a significant and enduring contribution to the development of solar energy. Under Mr. Mackler’s direction and leadership, Solaire continues to grow successfully while maintaining its deeply-rooted commitment to quality, design, service and innovation. Mr. Mackler designs and directs the development of solar energy structures and systems, of which several have been awarded patents. Educated and trained as an architect, Mr. Mackler has always put a premium on “beauty”; beauty being defined by form as well as function and performance.
Mr. Mackler is a member of the United States Green Building Council and the Solar Energy Industries Institute.
Prior to starting Solaire Generation, Mr. Mackler founded and directed for ten plus years Mackler Design Studio, an acclaimed architecture firm with an expertise in design and construction management of high end sustainable structures. He holds a BA from Dartmouth College and Masters of Architecture degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
DAVID FROELICH
Director, Business Development
David Froelich joined Solaire Generation in 2009 and is responsible for business development and strategic partnerships. He brings over 19 years experience of executive management in operations and finance to the company. Mr. Froelich has served as President of Gracedale Fabrics, Inc., a 60+ year old, New York-based textile company. He earned his BA degree from Tufts University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
BRIAN CUFF, AIA
Director, Design & Construction
Brian Cuff joined Solaire Generation in 2010 and is responsible for leading product design and construction. Brian brings over 15 years of experience as a Senior Architect and Project Manager to Solaire. Prior to joining Solaire, Brian worked at Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects and Lacina Heitler Architects in NYC. In both firms, Brian worked on award-winning hospitality, institutional, and residential projects including the Phoenix W Hotel, the Las Vegas Mandarin Hotel, the New York Sports and Convention Center and the St. Regis Hotel. Brian is a registered Architect, a LEED AP certified designer, a member of the US Green Buildings Council, and an alumni of the Rocky Mountain Institute. Brian earned his BA from Lehigh University and his Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
